Über das Germany SailGP Team
Das Germany SailGP Team wurde von den Eigentümern Thomas Riedel und Sebastian Vettel im Mai 2023 offiziell vorgestellt. Sowohl Riedel als auch der vierfache Formel-1-Weltmeister Vettel sind für das Team aktiv beratend tätig. Sebastian Vettel reizen einerseits die Hightech-Parallelen zwischen der Formel 1 und der Weltliga des Segelrennsports. Andererseits fasziniert es ihn, dass die F50-Rennkatamarane auf dem Wasser nur von Windkraft angetrieben werden. Bei den Rennen an ikonischen Veranstaltungsorten nehmen die besten Athleten*innen des Segelsports auf den identischen F50-Katamaranen teil, die dabei eine Geschwindigkeit von bis zu 100 km/h erreichen können. Mit der Impact League bietet der SailGP außerdem einen Wettbewerb für Nachhaltigkeit, der für das Germany SailGP Team zukunftsweisend ist.
