Promoting investment and pioneering innovation in the blue economy is an important part of our sustainability strategy. But we also want to take practical steps that can help make a meaningful difference on a daily basis.
By working with multiple partners, including Ocean Bottle and Parley, we seek to support plastic waste collection and create a positive impact – both in the communities in which we operate and globally.
How our partnerships are making an impact
Each 100% recyclable Deutsche Bank Ocean Bottle funds the collection of at least 1,000 plastic bottles before they enter the ocean. By 2025, Ocean Bottle aims to collect the equivalent to seven billion plastic bottles before they enter our oceans.
Each Deutsche Bank x Parley bag is created from 30 intercepted plastic bottles and helps to fund the removal of 10lbs of marine plastic debris.
Through our partnerships in 2021 and 2022, we have supported the collection of more than 140,000kg of ocean-bound plastic waste – the equivalent of a blue whale.
